Vroom is the name and I’m glad you stopped by. Out of the blue, I found some inspiration to start this little project. I really don’t expect many people to see it and to be honest, I don’t care. I’m doing this more so for myself than others.
As of recently I have started to gain an appreciation for Volvo automobiles and the company. I want to document the company, its achievements and its automobiles.
I remember about 20 plus years ago my uncle, who was in the military at the time, drove a Volvo. Actually, him and his wife drove a Volvo… one was burgundy and the other was light blue. I’m not exactly sure what model they were but the cars were made in the late 80s – early 90s.
These cars had a lasting impression on me because, for years, they were the only two Volvos that I saw on the road. So they seemed kind of “space age” to me. My uncle was at sea a lot so his stayed pristine for a while. I also remember that they liked the cars so much that they leased 2 more after.
This was my only experience with Volvo but over the years they have always caught my eye. They have done a great job with keeping up with the changing times and the company seems to be as progressive as any other.
As a side thought while writing this, I really can’t remember a time that I’ve seen a Volvo broken down on the side of the road.
Anyway, have a look around and enjoy the site. Feel free to contact me at anytime with suggestions, stories or just to say “what up?”.
